Behind the Scenes “Let It Go” Video Shoot 3
Only one more day until the World Premiere of the “Let It Go” video on GMC! I can hardly believe it! Thought I’d share a few more behind the scenes photos and some insight into how this all began.
I was honored to get the opportunity to work with Producer/Director Mil Cannon. Mil is well-known for his work on Grammy nominated projects with artists such as Usher, so when he agreed to direct and produce my first music video I was stoked to say the least. As this is a very personal & touching song for me, it was very important to me that whoever worked on this project have a clear understanding of the message I was trying to convey with the video.
After a 10 minute conversation with Mil, he came back to me with a story line for the video and I was blown away. Tears came to my eyes and I knew that he was exactly the artist to partner with to make this video a success. I hope that once you see it, your heart will be touched and you will agree. Mil put his heart and soul into the making of this video and I will be forever grateful for his passion and hard work.
We had such a great crew working on this shoot. As you can tell from these photos, while we all worked hard, we had some fun too!
We shot this in a period of two days in the middle of summer in Georgia.
I came away with some pink arms and was pretty dehydrated, but it was worth every single minute.
Things just seemed to fall into place with everything surrounding the making of this video. I was even able to jump in on the production side and earn my first producer’s credit – from casting all of the scenes to location scouting and props, I sure learned a lot and enjoyed every bit. Who knows? Maybe there is more production work in my future!
Thanks for all of your support! Won’t be long now ’til I get to share all of our hard work with all of you. I just can’t wait!
XO, Mandy

Behind the Scenes – “Let It Go” Video Shoot 2
As we countdown to the release, only 2 days away – here are some more behind the scenes photos. I loved the experience of shooting my first music video! It was truly a dream come true.
To tell the truth, I’ve been practicing in front of the mirror with a hairbrush for this moment since I was about 3 years old. Ha! It was one of those days that you wish would never end.
I compare it to my wedding day – about half way through I remember feeling like I wanted to start over and do it all again! One of the perks of shooting a music video, is getting your own makeup artist. Here are some shots of my sweet friend and talented makeup artist Cornelia Starr (we call her “Princes”).
It was a HOT day in August when we shot the video and my “Usher fan” came in very handy! Here’s the story behind the fan: When Cornelia was working on the set of a project for Usher, he was getting hot, so she gave him this very fan to use.. He loved it and said he would never go on another shoot without one. I sure was glad she had it that day! Whew!
Thanks for all of your support with spreading the word about the premiere! Please keep it up! Remember, you are my PR team!
Can’t wait to share this video with you and hear what you think.

Behind the Scenes – “Let It Go” Video Shoot
Here are a couple of shots on location for the “Let It Go” video shoot. We filmed all over the beautiful North Georgia town of Dahlonega, We found a warm welcome with the residents and business owners who allowed us to film in their town, homes and businesses. One of my favorite places to take my boys to have lunch, The Picnic Cafe is featured in the video.
All of the “actors” in the video are friends and family. Below, is a photo of family friend Roy Lantz (right) who was so great in his role, the Director Mil Cannon (pictured below also) convinced him to go and get a professional headshot taken and pursue a career in acting! So, watch out – who knows where you’ll see him next!
